NJ PAAD & NJ Senior Gold

Here are the facts you need about NJ PAAD and NJ Senior Gold.  New Jersey offers two great Medicare Prescription Assistance Programs called NJ PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) and NJ Senior Gold Prescription Discount Program. We are happy to give you all the facts you need to understand your options fully.

1. NJ PAAD

Benefits:

• Pays the prescription coverage insurance premiums
• Eliminates any plan deductible
• Eliminates the coverage gap known as the “donut hole”
• Co-pays are $5 per month for generic drugs and $7 per month for name–brand drugs

Eligibility:

• NJ resident at least 65 years old or at least age 18 and receiving Social Security Disability Benefit
• Be enrolled in a Medicare Part D Prescription Plan (which can be part of your Medicare Advantage Plan)
• Cannot be on Medicaid
• If single – income must be less than $38,769
• If married – income must be less than $45,270

2. NJ Senior Gold Prescription Discount Program

Benefits:

• Pays 50% of RX copay after you pay the first $15 co-pay
• If your prescription costs exceed $2,000 in a calendar year, the NJ Senior Gold will cover 100% of cost

Eligibility: 

• NJ resident at least 65+ years old
• Be enrolled in a Medicare Part D Prescription Plan (which can be part of your Medicare Advantage Plan)
• If single – income must be between $38,769 and $48,769
• If married – income must be between $45,270 and $55,270
